International shoe sizes can vary slightly between brands and models. Use your measured foot length as the best starting point, then compare it with the individual brand's size recommendation. Where a product page gives model-specific sizing advice, that guidance should always take priority over a general conversion chart.

Never choose a dance shoe from conversion alone. Ballet, jazz, ballroom and character shoes can fit very differently depending on the last, upper material, width and intended level of compression. Use this table to understand international equivalents, then follow the fit advice for the individual shoe.
How to Measure Your Feet for Dance Shoes
Measure both feet while standing, preferably later in the day. Use the longer foot when comparing your measurement with a shoe size chart.
Foot Length
Key MeasurementStand with your heel lightly against a wall and place your foot flat on a sheet of paper. Mark the end of your longest toe and measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
Measure in centimetres for the most accurate comparison with international shoe charts.
Measure Both Feet
Repeat the measurement on the other foot. It is very common for one foot to be slightly longer than the other, so always use the larger measurement when choosing your starting size.
Foot Width
Measure across or around the widest part of the forefoot. Width can be just as important as length in dance shoes, particularly in fitted ballet, jazz and ballroom styles.
Measure While Standing
Take measurements with your full weight on your feet. Standing allows the foot to spread naturally and gives a more realistic measurement than measuring while sitting.
Check the Dance Fit
A correctly fitted dance shoe should feel secure without restricting the toes or causing pressure. Different dance disciplines require different amounts of growing room, compression and heel security, so always follow the model-specific Dance World Fit Advice.
This chart is designed as an international reference rather than a replacement for individual brand sizing. Bloch, Capezio, So Danca, IDS, PortDance, Diamant and other dance footwear brands may use their own conversion systems or fit differently from standard street shoes. Always use the individual product's Dance World Fit Advice where available.
PD137 Premium Latin Dance Shoes • 50mm Heel, Dark Tan - Dark Tan / 4 UK / 37 EU is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Best For: Latin Dance • Competition • Training Sessions • Social Dancing • Dancers Who Prefer a Lower Heel
Description
Description
Intricate straps, warm satin and a beautifully balanced silhouette give the PortDance PD137 Premium its distinctive character. Designed for Latin competition, these dark tan satin dance shoes combine an asymmetric front with an extra-padded insole and a 50mm flared heel. They bring expressive styling to the dance floor, with thoughtful cushioning for training sessions and social dancing.
PortDance PD137 Premium Personality
Elegant • Intricate • Expressive • Warm Dark Tan
The interest is in the way the straps meet. Fine satin bands sweep across the front in an asymmetric arrangement, creating a sense of movement before the first step. Dark tan satin gives the design a warm lustre, while the gold-tone buckle adds a small finishing detail. The result feels polished and distinctive, with the open, light appearance of a classic Latin sandal.
PortDance PD137 Premium Latin Shoes – Design & Performance
An asymmetric front with a close, shaped fit.
The crossed satin straps form an intricate vamp around the forefoot, combining decorative detail with a secure feel around the toes. The open-toe construction keeps the front visually light and lets dancers check their toe position within the shoe.
Premium cushioning beneath the foot.
An extra-padded insole provides a softer underfoot feel, with cushioning designed to absorb impact during movement. It is a thoughtful feature for dancers moving between repeated practice, competition preparation and evenings of social dancing.
Adjustable hold across the instep.
The cross straps work with an enclosed heel to help keep the shoe close to the foot. A gold-tone buckle allows you to refine the fastening, creating a secure fit while leaving the toes and sides of the foot open.
A 50mm flared heel.
The 5cm heel gives a moderate lift, with a flared base that broadens its contact with the floor. It is an appealing option for dancers who prefer a lower Latin heel while keeping an elegant line through the shoe.
A traditional suede dance sole.
The flexible suede outsole is designed for controlled glide, turns and floor contact on suitable indoor dance surfaces. Its feel depends on the floor and the condition of the suede, so regular sole care helps keep movement consistent.

Dance World Notes
Let the straps do the styling.
The asymmetric front adds plenty of interest alongside a simple practice skirt or an understated Latin outfit. It is the kind of detail that becomes more noticeable as the foot moves.
Choose the height that suits your dancing.
A 50mm heel gives dancers who enjoy a lower heel an elegant option for training and social events. If you also dance in a different heel height, allow time to become familiar with the change before a performance.
Dance World Fit Advice
Overall Fit
PD137 Premium should hold the heel and forefoot securely, with the toes lying naturally and the foot staying in place as you move.
Strappy Front
Check that the satin bands sit close to the forefoot without pinching. Your toes should remain comfortably supported by the footbed rather than slipping between the straps.
Cross-Strap Adjustment
Fasten the straps firmly enough to hold the shoe close, without pressure across the instep. The enclosed heel should sit neatly around the back of the foot.
PD137 Premium Fit Note
For advice on choosing a size, particularly if you are between sizes or unsure about forefoot width, contact Dance World with your foot measurements. Check the fit while standing and taking a few gentle steps on clean carpet.
Dance World sizing recommendations are intended as a starting point. Dance shoe fit is individual and can vary with foot width, toe shape, instep height and personal preference.
