For Mara leotards, girth is one of the most useful measurements because it reflects the dancer's full torso length. If your measurements fall across different sizes, pay particular attention to girth. Dancers with a longer torso may be more comfortable in the larger size.

How to Measure for Mara Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up the body to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.
Keep the tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight. The dancer should stand naturally while being measured.
Chest
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body. Keep the tape comfortably against the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and do not pull it too tightly.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around the body.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Mara Dancewear uses different size structures depending on the garment. For leotards, compare chest, waist, hips and especially girth. For skirts, waist and hips are the most useful measurements. For warm-up pants, use waist and hips together with Mara's height guidance to choose between XS/S and M/L.

Chloe takes the familiar ballet camisole and gives it a beautifully considered focal point. A wide panel of tonal floral lace forms the upper bodice, creating texture across the neckline before continuing around the sides and across the back. In Rose, that detail becomes especially rich: decorative and feminine, but still sophisticated enough for serious studio wear.
Fine adjustable shoulder straps keep the upper silhouette delicate while allowing dancers to personalise the position of the neckline and bodice. From behind, the design is particularly pretty. The open straight-back line leaves the shoulder blades beautifully visible, while the wide lace panel sits beneath it like a soft textural frame across the upper back.
Beneath the lace, Chloe transitions into Mara's smooth nylon and elastane performance fabric. Compared with the brand's signature ribbed styles, it feels less compressive, smoother and more fluid against the body, with four-way stretch allowing plenty of freedom through port de bras, épaulement and larger movement. A flattering high-cut leg keeps the lower silhouette long and clean.
Inside, the fully lined front brings one of our favourite Mara Dancewear details back into the story. The lining is exceptionally soft - genuinely one of the nicest linings we've felt in a dance leotard. It adds comfort and reassuring coverage beneath the lace and smooth outer fabric, making Chloe feel every bit as considered on the inside as it looks from the outside.

Studio Experience
Chloe looks delicate, but it doesn't feel precious once you start dancing. The smooth stretch body follows movement easily, while the adjustable straps let you fine-tune the bodice position rather than simply accepting a fixed camisole length.
We particularly like the contrast between the intricate lace and that exceptionally soft lining underneath. You get the visual delicacy of lace without sacrificing the comfort and coverage needed for a full class or rehearsal.
Dance World Notes
- The back might actually be our favourite view. The wide floral lace panel creates a beautiful horizontal frame beneath the shoulder blades while leaving plenty of the upper back open.
- Rose makes the lace feel richer. Instead of creating contrast, Mara keeps everything tonal, allowing the floral pattern and different fabric textures to do the work.
- There is a lovely balance between delicate and practical. Fine camisole straps and floral lace make Chloe look refined, while adjustable straps, full front lining and four-way stretch make it genuinely useful for everyday training.
- This isn't really a traditional ballet pink. Rose has a warmer, dustier quality that feels more grown-up - particularly beautiful for dancers who like pink but want something beyond the usual uniform shades.
- And yes, we're mentioning the lining again. Once you've felt Mara's super-soft interior it becomes difficult not to notice it. In a lace design like Chloe, that extra softness and coverage feels particularly well judged.

🌹 Romantic Studio Favourite
Chloe Rose proves that romantic dancewear doesn't need to be complicated. The lace does most of the talking, while the simple camisole silhouette gives it space to shine. We especially love the wide lace back and tonal Rose palette, but underneath the pretty exterior there is still everything we want from a working leotard: stretch, comfortable coverage, adjustable straps and that wonderfully soft Mara lining.
Mara Dancewear Chloe Rose Colour Story
Rose sits somewhere between ballet pink, dusty blush and soft antique rose, and that's exactly what makes it interesting.
Across the smooth body, the colour feels understated and beautifully wearable. Move into the floral lace and the same palette suddenly gains depth: raised flowers, sheer-looking texture and tiny changes in shadow make the upper bodice appear richer without introducing another colour.
