The BLOCH Soleil Foot Glove is designed for a close, glove-like performance fit. The mesh should sit smoothly over the upper forefoot and around each toe without loose fabric, while the leather working surface should remain centred beneath the ball of the foot.

BLOCH's guidance is based on a medium-width foot. Dancers with a broader forefoot or longer toes may prefer the larger adjacent size.

When checking the fit:
• The leather outsole should sit directly beneath the ball of the foot.
• Each toe should sit comfortably in its channel without curling or being pulled backwards.
• The toe openings should remain secure without cutting into the skin.
• The mesh should lie smoothly across the upper foot.
• The V-shaped elastic should sit flat and feel secure without excessive pressure.
• Rise onto relevé and move through a turn to confirm that the footpad stays correctly aligned.

The individual toe design makes toe length and forefoot shape especially important; two dancers with the same shoe size may prefer different Soleil sizes.

Fit guidance is intended as a starting point. Forefoot width, toe length, foot volume and preferred closeness can affect the final choice.

The glove-like mesh construction removes the need for separate toe straps, while the broad silicone-backed elastic helps keep the padded leather working surface correctly positioned.

Care information

Spot clean the mesh upper using a soft, slightly damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent.

Wipe the leather working surface carefully and use a soft, dry brush to remove studio dust when required. Avoid prolonged soaking or machine washing, as excess water may affect the leather, stretch mesh and silicone backing.

Allow Soleil to air dry naturally away from radiators, tumble dryers, direct heat and strong sunlight.

Before Choosing Your Size

Take dancewear measurements over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. For shoes, measure both feet while standing and use the longer measurement as your general starting point.

Bust / Chest Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level.

Waist Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso.

Hips Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat, keeping the tape level.

Girth Start at one shoulder, measure down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back to the same shoulder in one continuous loop.

Foot Length Measure from heel to longest toe while standing. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement as your general starting point.

Light, breathable and more protective than it first appears, the BLOCH Soleil S0662L Foot Glove wraps the working forefoot like a second skin while leaving the heel and arch completely open.

Individual mesh toe channels protect the top and sides of the toes without introducing separate straps, while a padded leather outsole cushions the ball of the foot and creates a smooth working surface for turns. A wide V-shaped elastic backed with silicone keeps Soleil securely connected through floorwork and travelling movement.

Soleil protects more of the toes and upper forefoot than the most minimal foot thongs, but its fine mesh construction keeps the overall feeling light, airy and close to barefoot. The open-ended toe design preserves natural contact, while the padded outsole brings welcome comfort to repeated floorwork and turns.

Tan gives the mesh and leather construction a warm, natural and visually understated barefoot-inspired finish.

BLOCH Soleil Mesh Foot Glove – Design & Performance

Soleil's defining feature is its breathable mesh upper. The fine stretch material follows the top of the foot and separates into individual open-ended toe channels, giving each toe a light protective layer without relying on additional loops or straps.

This toe-by-toe construction helps Soleil maintain a smooth, glove-like profile while allowing the toes to remain visible and move naturally. It is particularly useful through floorwork, where the tops and sides of the toes can otherwise meet the studio surface directly.

Beneath the forefoot, a leather outsole with additional internal padding protects the toes and ball of the foot from repeated friction. The leather creates the dedicated working surface for turns, while the cushioning softens pressure without introducing the bulk of a complete dance shoe.

The toe-by-toe mesh coverage is the detail that really changes the experience. Soleil protects areas that remain exposed in a conventional foot thong, but does so without adding separate toe straps or visually heavy material across the foot.

The padding and ventilation are nicely balanced. There is enough cushioning beneath the working forefoot to make repeated turns and floor contact more comfortable, while the mesh upper and perforated outsole stop the design from feeling overly enclosed.

Our overall impression: Soleil is a particularly useful choice for dancers who want more toe and floorwork protection than a minimalist turning pad provides, but still want their footwear to feel light, breathable and unmistakably barefoot-inspired.
