How to Measure for Intermezzo Dancewear

Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.

Girth

Key Measurement

Using a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.

Keep the tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight. For Intermezzo leotards, girth is especially important when deciding between two sizes.

Chest

Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body without compressing it.

Waist

Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body.

Hips

Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around.

Height

Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.

Height is not part of Intermezzo's women's garment size table, but it is useful when considering overall proportions and whether a dancer may need more length through the torso.

The long knitted shape is designed to extend above the knee, bringing warmth along the calves and thighs as well as around the ankles. Vertical ribbing gives Maxical its familiar ballet look, with a soft texture that layers comfortably over tights. The final height depends on your proportions and how you arrange the fabric.

A stirrup opening leaves the heel exposed while the lower section covers the instep. Position this opening first, then ease the knit upwards along the leg. The shaped foot section helps you place the legwarmer comfortably around your dance shoes while keeping the toes free.
