For Intermezzo leotards, prioritise girth if your measurements point to different sizes. A dancer may fit one size through the chest and waist but need the next size for comfortable torso length. If you are between sizes, the larger size is usually the better starting point.
How to Measure for Intermezzo Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting clothing using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Girth
Key MeasurementUsing a flexible tape measure, start at the centre of one shoulder. Bring the tape down the front of the torso, through the crotch and back up to the same shoulder, creating one complete loop.

Chest
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape straight and level around the body without compressing it.
Waist

Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Height is not part of Intermezzo's women's garment size table, but it is useful when considering overall proportions and whether a dancer may need more length through the torso.
Intermezzo women's dancewear runs from XS through XL in the brand's main size guide, although individual styles may be offered in a smaller size range. Leotards should fit closely without restricting movement. The Intermezzo Carmen 7856 is an asymmetrical ballet skirt in sheer black stretch tulle, with a short front and an extra-long back for flowing movement. Made from 90% polyamide and 10% elastane, it slips on with a smooth elastic waistband. A light layer for ballet class, rehearsals and choreography, Carmen adds a sweeping silhouette while keeping the leotard and legs visible through the fabric.

The graduated hem moves from a short front into a much longer back, with soft folds along the sides. This shape creates visual length behind the dancer while leaving the front of the legs clear. The longer panel gives turns and travelling steps an expressive finishing line.
