Size & Fit Advice

Profile: RP, AKOYA Pointe Shoes run narrow from metatarsal to heel and favor tapered toes or a longer second toe. The medium crown and V2 (medium) vamp give balanced coverage without bulk.
Best foot shapes: Slender forefoot, tapered toes, or Morton’s toe. If you love Encore, Akoya will feel familiar, just a touch sleeker in the heel.

Shank & feel: FS (Flexible Standard) shank with a pre-arched profile = fast break-in and smooth roll-through.

Fitting tips:
- Work with a professional fitter when possible.
- On flat, the heel should “suction” without gaping; on relevé, your toes should lie flat inside the box (no crunching).
- Wings should cover the bunion area; the platform should sit fully under the first two met heads.
- Use the U-cut drawstring to micro-adjust tension across the throat.
- Padding: Fit for your preferred toe pads/space fillers; reassess length after adding pads.

Ribbons/elastic: Sold separately, attach to your preference once fit is confirmed.

Lining/Insole: Soft textile lining with a supportive, pre-arched insole.
Sole: Natural leather outsole for durable, controlled traction.
Box/Platform: Tapered box with medium, pleated platform for stable balances; streamlined heel for clean lines.

Care information

Break-in, not break-down: Warm the shoe with gentle roll-throughs and demi-plies; avoid crushing the box or sharply bending the shank.
Dry time matters: After class, air-dry 24–48 hours outside your bag; rotate pairs to extend life.
Keep the shape: Use mesh/cedar shapers.
Satin TLC: Spot-clean with a barely damp cloth or makeup sponge and mild soap; don’t soak.
Extra support: If approved by your teacher, reinforce box/wings with thin layers of pointe shoe hardener and allow to fully cure.
