Anniel 4102 Rhythmic Gymnastics Ribbon – Design & Movement

The single-colour satin ribbon measures 6 metres from end to end, creating the long, continuous visual line associated with rhythmic gymnastics. Its smooth surface responds to changes in direction, allowing the gymnast to explore circles, spirals, snakes, figure-eights and travelling patterns.

A reinforced metal eyelet connects the ribbon to the supplied 56cm stick through a metal clip and swivel-style linkage. This allows the ribbon to move around the attachment point as the gymnast changes direction and works through continuous patterns.

The slender white stick keeps the focus on the moving ribbon and provides the reach needed to direct a full 6m length. Ribbon, stick and connecting hardware are supplied together, so the apparatus can be prepared for training without purchasing each component separately.

Is a 6m Rhythmic Gymnastics Ribbon Right for My Gymnast?

This is a full-length 6m ribbon. It creates impressive extended patterns but also requires more space, coordination and continuous movement than a shorter junior or beginner ribbon.

Some younger or less experienced gymnasts may be asked to begin with a shorter ribbon while developing control. Choose the length specified by the gymnast’s coach, particularly when purchasing for graded work, competition or a particular age category.

If the ribbon is required for an official event, confirm the current apparatus rules and approval requirements with the coach or competition organiser before purchasing.

How to Use a Rhythmic Gymnastics Ribbon

1. Attach the metal clip securely to the reinforced eyelet at the end of the ribbon.
2. Check that the connector moves freely and that the ribbon is not twisted before beginning.
3. Hold the stick lightly while keeping the wrist and fingers responsive.
4. Begin with large circles, snakes and spirals before progressing to changes of direction, throws and more complex combinations.
5. Keep the ribbon moving continuously to help prevent the fabric from collapsing or forming knots.

Always practise in a clear indoor space with enough height and floor area for the full 6m ribbon. Keep away from other gymnasts, lights, furniture and surrounding equipment.
